Ongole: The government is according top priority to the welfare of the farmers, said Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy here on Friday. He also said that the government would take back the land unused by the industries so far.

The Deputy CM said that the ‘Mee Intiki Mee Bhoomi’ programme has become a grand success in the State and helped farmers to solve issues regarding the land.

He said, “To address the problems and dissatisfaction of the farmers about mistakes in land records, the State government has introduced ‘Mee Intiki Mee Bhoomi. It was a grand success and Prakasam district secured second position in addressing the complaints from public.”

Krishnamurthy appreciated the efforts of the Collector and Joint Collector in implementing various government schemes and programmes.

“I found out that Collector Sujatha Sharma and Joint Collector Hari Jawaharlal are working hard to make each and every programme taken up by the government, a success. The district stood third and fourth position in implementing the loan credit module and e-Crop programmes. It is in third place in addressing the requests received at Mee Seva. I appreciate their efforts and request them to continue the spirit. We are very open to address the problems of officials and accept their requests and feedback. Some of the tahsildars said that their office buildings are in dilapidated condition. A majority of them asked for appointment of computer operators. The MLAs in the district advised me to see if we can appoint another tahsildar for Ongole. I will consider all the requests and fulfil them definitely.”

The minister asked the officials to make best use available machinery to deliver best services to the farmers. He said, “Farmers welfare is the priority to us. I order the VROs to stay in the villages for at least two days in a week and learn about the issues bothering the farmers. As we receive information that survey settlements became an issue, we gave a nod for 645 surveyor posts. Also, we have provided 375 EPS machines to the tahsildars for their daily usage. With them they could complete a work that takes 20 days normally in just four days.”

He said, “We are going to linkup the revenue and registration departments with the help of webland. We are going to set up a large land bank in the district and allocate land to the interested industrialists. But, we are going to take back the land that was allotted earlier and unused by the industries so far in the district.”

Joint Collector Hari Jawaharlal, MLAs Damacharla Janardhan, Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, MLC Magunta Srinivasula Reddy were present.
