Bandh in West Godavari; protesters demand justice for Dalit scholar suicide

People's organisations are staging a protest by observing bandh in West Godavari district on Saturday over Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula's death.

Demanding action against the Hyderabad Central University Vice-Chancellor Prof Appa Rao and Union Ministers Bandaru Dattatreya and Smriti Irani as they had driven Rohith Vemula to commit suicide, the protestors staged a dharna in front of bus depots at Tanuku, Chintalapudi, Eluru; halting the buses and not allowing them to pass by.
