Chittoor: District Superintendent of Police (SP) G Srinivas has initiated measures to change the attitude of police by introducing reforms in functioning of the Police department in the district.

He strongly believes that reforming existing police structure should alone ensure the deserved results.

Hence, the SP decided to get the correct feedback from the public towards their needs and expectations from the police. The Police department engaged 400 students belonging to various colleges in and around the city to conduct a survey.

In the first phase, survey was conducted for two days, Thursday and Friday, in which the 400 students have submitted their reports.

Addressing the students, who were involved in the survey, here on Saturday, the SP appreciated the students for their sincerity and commitment in making the survey a big success by obtaining useful feedback after interviewing people in the city.

“Information obtained through survey would be compiled shortly and a report would be prepared in two days,” he added.

Srinivas further said that people-friendly policing would be the best option to maintain law and order in the district. He said that the police would select interested candidates from all sections of the society and use their services to ensure.

He opined that the people’s involvement would be more effective to achieve the desired goals. He appreciated the parents of the students for allowing their children to conduct the survey.

Additional SP Abhishek Mohanty (Administration), DSP Lakshmi Naidu and other police officials were present. Earlier, the SP interacted with several students to know their experiences while conducting the survey.
