Visakhapatnam: Though the International Fleet Review (IFR) begins from February 4, a majority of representatives are likely to reach the city by February 2 and to stay up to February 7 for which it was estimated that the event needs 84,000 litres of milk for making coffee and tea and 8.4 lakh litres of drinking water.

The district officials were taking all necessary steps without any inconvenience to the guests and they shall have to cough up Rs 33 lakh for the milk and Rs 1.68 crore for the mineral water for one week. Further, they are busy in mobilising nearly 3,000 rented premier cars like Aadi and Benz from important cities for national and international guests for six days to which the estimated expenditure was Rs 6.3 crore. With regard to the supply of breakfast, lunch and dinner to each representative, it comes to about Rs 1,500 per day and thus, it was estimated that a sum of Rs 6 crore is needed for six days for guests only.

At the same time, special food arrangements were being made exclusively for the President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice of India, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and State Ministers. The officials are further making arrangements to arrange 4,000 rooms for the comfortable stay of national and international representatives in Star Hotels and Government Guest Houses, which should be ready by February 2 itself.

For the expected 7-day stay of the VIPs and VVIPs, a sum of Rs 11.2 crore was needed at the rate of Rs 1.6 crore per day.

The special menus for breakfast and food to be taken by President and Prime Minister were already reached the district administration, which is on the job of paying utmost care in procuring the material as well as cooking. It was also learnt that both President and Prime Minister will take the food in their flights itself during return journey and so the officials were making special arrangements to shift food material directly from selected Star Hotels to the flights. While the food material from Hotel GateWay (earlier Taj) will be for the reception to be hosted by President on February 6, Hotel Novotel food material for the reception to be hosted by Prime Minister on February 7.
