Vizianagaram: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, rank and file of Gajapathinagaram constituency have registered their protest over alleged negligence of the local MLA Dr K A Naidu. They have expressed their strong displeasure with the attitude of the ruling party MLA, who according to them is neglecting the longstanding cadre of the party and giving priority to new entrants. They are visibly unhappy about the elevated importance of Makkuva Sridhar, the Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member of Gajapathinagaram and a close aide of the MLA.
Recently Gajapathinagaram Mandal Parishad President (MPP), G Sridevi has burst out in a meeting and wept. She blamed the leadership of the constituency for harassing and humiliating her. “Several decisions regarding our Mandal Parishad- even the financial decisions- are being made solely by Sridhar, without my knowledge, and the MLA is supporting him,” she complained.
In an interesting turn, she met the former minister and MLA of the constituency Padala Aruna and declared her allegiance. The MPP of Bondapalli and the ZPTC member of Datti-rajeru have questioned the priorities of the MLA.
Quite a few village sarpanches and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) members have also expressed their displeasure. They were reportedly made to take the permission of the ZPTC member to meet the MLA. The protesting leaders are making arrangements to file a complaint with the party top brass.
Talking to The Hans India, a sarpanch of Gajapathinagaram Mandal said, “MLA Naidu is taking only Sridhar into confidence and our concerns don’t matter to him anymore. He has forgotten the services of the seniors (to the party) and promoting the newcomers. We are utterly unhappy with this situation.”
When contacted, Sridhar termed the allegations baseless and untrue. “All such comments are totally groundless. The MLA is giving equal priority to all public representatives in our constituency. But based on the skills and talent, one can get the place in the mind of our MLA. Anybody can meet our MLA at any time, there are no restrictions on this aspect.” he explained.
