​Tirupati: Minister for Information and Public Relations Palle Raghunatha Reddy stressed that it was the need of the hour to usher in revolution in IT. Participating as a chief guest at a symposium held at Hotel Ritz, here on Friday he lauded the efforts of the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in striving to make AP a model State.

Referring to the achievements of the government in IT, the Minister said that 1.2 crore ration cards have been computerised in the State which is a record in the country. “The TDP government is proud that bank accounts of 84 lakh farmers in the State are linked with Aadhaar cards. Apart from it, the bank accounts of 80 lakh self-help groups, and 43 lakh pensioners are also computerized,” he added.

Stating that the State has achieved 95 per cent in Aadhaar enrollment, Raghunatha Reddy said, “Progress in IT sector will reflect in enhanced lifestyle and increase in job opportunities.” He assured that an Incubation Centre would be opened at Sri Padmavathi Mahila University. Special Secretary G S Phani kishore, e-Goverance CEO Ratna Kishore and Texco Media Manager Gagan were also present.
