Macherla (Guntur): Macherla MLA P Ramakrishna Reddy lambasted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for dragging the name of Opposition Leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy in the violence that erupted at the Kapu Garjana in Tuni.
Addressing a press conference at the party office here on Tuesday, Ramakrishna said that a man of the Chief Minister's stature should not make baseless allegations against a person holding a responsible position in the Assembly.
Moreover, the Kapu meeting called by Mudragadda Padmanabham is apolitical and attended by several political parties. To accuse someone, who was not present at the meeting of being the mastermind of the violence is nothing, but a mudslinging campaign with political overtones.
The Chief Minister's statement smacks of desperation, as he was exposed by the Kapu meeting on going back on his election promise. Instead of making wild allegations the Chief Minister should first fullfil the promises he made to the Kapu community. The YSRCP, he said, is destined to come to power in 2019 elections and it would fullfil the demands of the Kapus.
