Tirupati: The three-month long `Rayalaseema Rashtra Sahdhan Bus Yatra’ taken up by various organisations with a sole aim of achieving separate Rayalaseema state will start in Aluru in Kurnool district on February 14.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held here on Wednesday in which leaders of various organisations espousing the cause of separate Rayalaseema participated.

Rayalaseema Adyayanala Samastha (RAS) chairman Bhuman said that Rayalaseema Parirakshna Samithi (RPS) president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy would spearhead the campaign in which leaders of various associations from the four districts in the region will take part during the yatra in their respective districts.

The yatra will conclude with a massive public meeting in Anantapur, the date of which will finalised later. The leaders will explain the injustice being meted out to the region, since long, particularly in the allocation of assured water, unemployment and other issues plaguing the region.

“All problems faced by the region could be ended had the Centre, during division of Andhra Pradesh, trifurcated it into three States – Telangana, Andhra, and Rayalaseema,” he pointed out.
