The two-day JNTU-K fourth inter-collegiate athletics championship was inaugurated by the university registrar, GVR Prasada Raju, at the university playground on Saturday. 

Kakinada: The two-day JNTU-K fourth inter-collegiate athletics championship was inaugurated by the university registrar, GVR Prasada Raju, at the university playground on Saturday.

Addressing the participants and students, the registrar urged them to inculcate sporting spirit while participating in sports and games and enrich a sound mind in a sound body. He also highlighted the significance of sports and games and elaborated the benefits of sports and games in promoting healthy lifestyle.

He said that JNTU-K was stepping forward and encouraging the students as budding players so that they could come up with flying colours at national and international arena.

Around 200 participants from various autonomous and affiliated colleges of JNTU-K have been taking part in the sports meet. Prof K Padma Raju, Dr D Koteswara Rao, Prof Siva Naga Raju, directors, programme directors, heads of departments, staff and students were present at the inaugural programme.
