Civic chief inspects wards

Guntur: Municipal Commissioner S Nagalakshmi is on an inspection spree visiting municipal wards and examining drains, roads and other things causing problem to people. She visited residential and commercial areas of the city including Maddirala, Basavatarakanagar, Rajagopalanagar, Thakkellapadu and Bramhanandam stadium area.

She also inspected overhead tanks in the city and enquired people about their maintenance. She interacted with people in residential areas and enquired about their problems and needs. She asked officials to attend to the complaints of people.

At several places, the Commissioner observed over-flowing drains and silt formation, piled up silt and garbage and gave instructions to remove garbage on a daily basis from the garbage bins. She asked officials to create mosquito-free conditions in the city and create a clean image to the city.

She also visited main roads in the city and inspected roads and road dividers and asked sanitary staff to keep the commercial areas in the city clean and tidy. She also watched the newly procured drainage cleaning machine while in operation and advised sanitary staff to make full use of the machine for removing silt and garbage from the drains.
