Nellore: Barely a month has passed since the Anam brothers joined Telugu Desam Party; differences started creeping in from all quarters. Party leaders, who welcomed the Anam brothers with open arms, earlier are coming down heavily on them and reportedly lodged complaints with the party senior leaders.

It should be recalled that majority of leaders in TDP opposed the admittance of Anam brothers, as the duo often criticised Naidu, when they were with the Congress party. However, they obeyed decision of the party chief and welcomed them. It is said that the internal war which is raging in the part was started by Rangamayur Reddy, son of AnamVivekananda Reddy.

He openly criticised local leaders of party, which lead to internal squabbles. They brothers are also reportedly involved in affairs of the Corporation and are making it difficult for the Mayor. The brothers met Naidu in December last year and officially joined the party along with their followers at a public meeting in Vijayawada on January 17.

Now, the followers of Anam brothers are competing for municipal works and other contracts and consequently pressure started mounting on other group. Sources said that though there was animosity between Mayor Abdul Aziz and Anam brothers, the recent development relating to tenders for municipal works and involvement of leaders from the group in the civic body activities irritated him and he subsequently joined the anti-Anam group.

Party leaders openly criticised and lodged complaint with the party district president Beeda Ravichandra on Monday. Followers of Mayor Aziz, former minister T Ramesh Reddy and his wife Anuradha, and party city president Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy complained against the recent developments. They demanded the party district president to convey the issues to the party.

“Party district president is nominal and he cannot initiate action against the leaders as the CM encouraged Anam brothers to join. We have no option but to lodge complaint and will take a firm decision if the same trend continues. We informed that anyone who joins the party should abide by the internal discipline of the party,” said a senior leader on the condition of anonymity. He said they would discuss all these issues with the party chief shortly and try to find an amicable solution.
