Man beaten to death by daughter, son-in-law
A 30-year-old woman and her husband beat her father to death and severely injured her stepmother at Nehru Nagar under Malkapuram Police Station limits in the city late on Monday night.
Visakhapatnam: A 30-year-old woman and her husband beat her father to death and severely injured her stepmother at Nehru Nagar under Malkapuram Police Station limits in the city late on Monday night.
The police identified the victim as K Appala Naidu, a labour contractor. The accused were M Devi and her husband MV Ramana. While Appala Naidu died on the spot after sustaining fatal head injuries, his second wife K Parvathi is battling for life in the hospital.
Police said that Naidu lost his first wife two decades ago and married Parvathi later. He had two sons and a daughter from his first wife and his second wife bore no children. Naidu was having a property dispute with his daughter Devi that led Devi and Ramana to develop a grudge against Naidu and his second wife.
On Monday night, there was a heated quarrel between them and in a fit of rage, Devi and Ramana beat Naidu with sticks and a boulder instantly killing him. They also attacked and injured Parvathi.
DCP (Zone-II) G Ram Gopal Naik said that both the accused were arrested on Tuesday and the injured Parvathi has been admitted into a private hospital. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
