Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral Satish Soni embarked onboard INS Sumitra flagged off tall ships ‘Sail in Company’ close to Rishikonda Beach off the coast of Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.    

Visakhapatnam: Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral Satish Soni embarked onboard INS Sumitra flagged off tall ships ‘Sail in Company’ close to Rishikonda Beach off the coast of Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

The indigenously built sail training ships Tarangini, commanded by Commander Deepak Subramaniam, Sudarshini by Commander Vikramaditya Malhan of the First Training Squadron and sailing vessel Mhadei, manned by an all women crew and skippered by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi, set sail together to Chennai in ‘Sail in Company’ after their spectacular show in the International Fleet Review.

These sail ships have participated in numerous international sailing events and have won accolades. The sailing off these ships marks the end of the International Fleet Review.
