Vijayawada: The AP State Women Commission Chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari said that effective measures will be taken by the commission in conducting extensive campaigning across the State to create awareness about the problems faced by the women at workplaces.

The commission would also constitute a committee with the members hailing from SC, ST, BC and minority backgrounds for the effective functioning against social evils in the society, she added. Addressing media here on Thursday, Rajakumari said that women are being subjected to violence and atrocities from their tender age.

“I am not saying all the men are bad and am also not supporting the women over the sexual harassment case,” she said and added ‘these days majority of the harassment cases were being filed by young as well as aged women in the society,”. So, she emphasised the need of creating awareness among the women about the various Acts.

The commission will also accord priority to conduct counseling sessions for the wife and husband to settle their personal disputes in a peaceful manner without spoiling their lives, she said. Chairperson also said that camp office would be established at Guntur as center in next a few months.

As of now, the commission has asked the officials to gather details of the officials and pending applications filed by the victims in united Andhra Pradesh. A detailed report of the pending cases will be submitted by the officials before the commission in next few weeks, she said.
