Among those present were Principal Secretary (Rural Water Supply) Jawahar Reddy, Collector Ch Vijaymohan, CEO Eshwar, DPO Swarooparani, RWS Superintending Engineer Prasad, Panchayat Raj SE Surendranath and several engineers. They paid glowing tributes to Ahmed who was killed on February 3.

Meanwhile, Ahmed’s family members have been in deep mourning for the last one week as they have are yet to receive his body. They have appealed to officials here to intervene to bring the body to Parnapalle at the earliest.
Ahmed had always thought of joining the army. He joined the Madras Regiment 12 years back and worked in various areas across the country. The soldier was killed in the avalanche along with nine others.

His family solely depends only on agriculture. Mustaq, who has an elder brother, was married in August 2014 to a woman of Nandyal. She has a six-month-old son. The family is spending anxious movements as officials have not bothered to provide any information when the body is to be brought to his native village.

When The Hans India contacted Mustaq’s brother, he said the family had learnt of the death after seeing TV news. On Wednesday, local Tahsildar had given information. He appealed to the district officials to help in bringing the body to Parnapalle at the earliest.
