Vijayawada: The aim behind festival of excellence 'Yuvajanotsav' is that to bring out the talent of students in various aspects, such that they excel in all spheres of development. Education is a combination of academics, sports and games, along with cultural activities, which pave a strong way for enhancement of mind and personality of youngsters.

‘Yuvajanotsav’ is a programme that is initiated by the government through Commissionerate of Collegiate and Technical Education to promote the all round-development and excellence, said Commissioner of Technical and Collegiate Education B Udaya Lakshmi, here on Friday.

She addressed the awards distribution programme that was held at Fr Devaiah Auditorium on the campus of Andhra Loyola College and emphasised the need to indulge in extracurricular activities that enable a student to grow mentally stronger and build a good character.

“Sports and Games besides other cultural activities improve discipline and fitness among students besides enhancing their positive thinking, look out for good virtues. They promote science of self control and art of planning. One can get inspired by maximum of 10 per cent and the other 90 per cent demands hard work and efforts to succeed’’, she said while asking the students to look out for their strengths and work on it.

The event Yuvajanotsav comprises three fold activities namely cultural and literary, sports and games, academics and excellence.

Students of the Degree Colleges were asked to take part in their favorite activities that were held. Prizes were awarded to the best performers which were given away to them during the ceremony. Students, who excelled in academics, literary and cultural competitions, who put out an outstanding model in study projects, were given away appreciation certificates.
