As the tremors were felt, it caused a lot of panic among the people in the area who ran out of their homes. It is the third time that such occurrence has taken place in the recent past. The tremors were felt in Utkuru, Chakalibanda of Vinjamur mandal, Ganeshwarapuram and Ramadevulapadu of Varikuntapdu mandal.
While no damage to property or any loss of life has been reported, the area is said to be seismically active and the district officials have been alerted by this incident.
