Court directs Krishna JC to examine cable operator’s complaint

Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar of the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday directed district Joint Collector to dispose of complaints lodged by Act Digital Home Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the operator of the cable network system in the area. The petitioner complained that the MCO M/s Blue Chip Systems and M/s Divya Digital Network Pvt Ltd had disconnected the cable network to various customers of the petitioner.

The petitioner pointed out that law required the customers to shift to digital set top boxes and since the petitioner, a local cable provider, did not purchase set top boxes from the private respondent. The private operators were pressurising him by discontinuing satellite connections. Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar pointed out that complaints were made to the appropriate statutory authority and therefore the said authority must examine the same and passed appropriate orders.
