Amaravati: Describing the construction of the temporary Secretariat as a “step forward”, Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao hinted that the winter session of the State Assembly would be held in the new Assembly Hall, which will come up in the same premises. Expressing happiness over laying the foundation stone for temporary Secretariat here on Wednesday, he observed that the move would hep boost the development prospects of the area.

Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana clarified that the buildings that would come up for the purpose of temporary Secretariat would be eventually used for housing other government offices when the permanent capital was ready. “We are embarking on building a world-class capital, and we will construct a permanent Secretariat too.

Once permanent capital is ready, these buildings in temporary Secretariat will used by other government offices,” he said. Meanwhile, Tadikonda MLA Sravan Kumar said he would lead a delegation of farmers to meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for resolving their issues. A.P.Revenue Service Association State president Bopparaju Venkateswarulu said that the employees were ready to shift Velagapudi and urged the Chief Secretary S P Takkar to arrange a meeting with the heads of the departments to facilitate the same.

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Deputy Chief Minister and N.Chinna Rajappa, Agriculture Minister Prattipati PullaRao, Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao, Mines Minister P Sujatha, Legislative Council Chairman Dr A Chakrapani, Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha were among those who participated.
