He, accompanied by SP Rajasekhar Babu and Joint Collectors B Lakshmikantham and Syed Khaza Mohiuddin, inspected the welcome arch at Kodikonda check-post, site for helipads at KBBV High School, Sobha Yatra arrangements at Nandi circle and venue of the public meeting at the AP BC welfare school grounds.

He told the R and B officials to build two helipads at KBBV High School. As Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and several Ministers from the State and Centre are going to take part in the celebrations, he asked the officials to work with coordination and ensure that there are no lacunae.

A cycle rally with 500 participants will be taken out on February 24 from Kodikonda check-post and a heritage run will be organised on February 25, he said adding that the celebrations will begin with Gramotsav on February 27. He exhorted people to decorate their homes with mango leaves, flowers and banana stems so that homes wear a festive look.

The sobha yatra will feature 906 artistes performing Kuchipudi dances. In all, 30 exhibition stalls and food courts would be set up. A flower show will be held on the occasion.

The food court will have stalls presenting food item characteristic of each district. As part of the event, rural sports, rangoli competitions, cultural programs and laser show will be organised. The town planning officer has been asked to ensure sanitation and the Police department has been told to beef up security.

A centralised control room with staff members of all government departments will be set up. He directed Endowments department officials to arrange purnakumbham for the sobha yatra. Assistant Director Information Thimmappa, ZP CEO Ramachandra, tourism official Aruna Kumari and others also accompanied the District Collector.
