Vijayawada: About 60 students who are pursuing painting and art at Artmate School in the city have come together to put up their works at Aakriti Art Gallery at Cultural Centre of Vijayawada on Saturday. Executive director of the AP Tourism R Mallikharjuna Rao formally inaugurated the three-day expo titled ‘Budding Colours’.

Speaking on the occasion, Mallikharjuna Rao expressed happiness for the enthusiasm that young children showcased in learning art. “It is overwhelming to see many school children, most of them of primary classes, to put up such a work. The paintings look every bit lively and I congratulate them all. The art gallery in the city has been serving the needy ever since its inception, but there is requirement of more number of galleries such that there are more opportunities that encourage artists,” he said.

Portraits, landscapes, still photography painting, visionary, nature were depicted in the paintings aesthetically finished by the children. CEO of the CCV E Sivanagi Reddy, Artmate School of Artist’s director A Sunil Kumar also spoke on the occasion while city’s artist clan were present in full strength.
