Sports Olympiad at ENC

Visakhapatnam: Sports Olympiad was conducted at the Eastern Naval Command for service and defence civilian personnel as well as their families at the ENC Command Stadium here on Saturday. The event was organised in eight disciplines volleyball, basketball, handball, Jal Tarang, walkathon, yachting, tug of war and athletics.

Apart from the teams from the fleet, flotilla, submarines and ashore units, Defence Civilians and Defence Security Corps also took part. The Olympiad was held on a knock-out basis and Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Vice-Admiral Satish Soni gave away prizes to the winning teams. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Admiral emphasised the need for physical fitness by participating in sports.
