Hectic political activity in YSRCP, TDP & Cong camps with focus on Srisailam constituency

Atmakur: Hectic political activity is being witnessed in the YSR Congress Party, Telugu Desam and Congress camps, with focus on the Srisailam constituency, in the context of the rumours of several YSRCP legislators switching over their loyalties to the ruling party. The Special Branch sleuths are keeping an eye on the developments in these camps.

Members of the camps are holding animated discussions. It is Interesting on the stand to be taken by important leaders in the rival parties. The constituency has become the centre of attention due to the main leaders of the three parties are presidents of the Kurnool district units. Intelligence sources are closing monitoring the movements of these leaders, besides MLAs of the three parties.

The YSRCP legislators are stated to be in a dilemma over the TDP strategy to attract them. Understandably, in-charges of the TDP are unhappy with the latest developments. The second rung leaders in the two parties are spending anxious movements over their future.

The future of the main leaders of the two principal parties is likely to be decided on February 28, with media reports stating that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has fixed the ‘muhurtam’ on that day for admission of eight YSRCP legislators. The reports indicate that at least five MLAs of Jagan’s party are ready to defect. The eight MLAs include five from Kurnool district and one each from Krishna, Guntur and Kadapa.

The possible changes in fortunes of the two main parties are likely to have a strong impact on the future of their in-charges. They are YSRCP Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy, who is also the party’s district president, Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, MLC, TDP Srisailam constituency in-charge besides the district unit chief. Momin Shabana, DCC women’s wing president, is also in-charge of the party constituency wing.

With the TDP and YSRCP involved in the process of attracting their rivals, there are chances of the Congress becoming the cynosure of all eyes. If this really happens, there is likelihood of Shabana gaining politically in the 2019 elections.
