Speaking after releasing a balloon on the Lepakshi Festival from the Grandhalaya Samstha building, they stated that there is no dearth of arts in the district. Along with Lepakshi, temples in Gutti, Penukonda, Pennahobhilam, Tadipatri were famous. Among those present were RDO Hussain Saheb and Information department AD Thimmappa.

Swaroopa and Mohiuddin appealed to the people to cooperate in making the festival being organised by film star and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna on February 27 and 28 a grand success. They said the festival would become a historic event.

The Mayor said development works costing Rs 4.10 crore would be launched during the festival by the Chief Minister. Several Central and State Ministers, besides those from Karnataka, would attend the two-day event.
