Kakinada: Tamil Nadu Governor Konijeti Rosaiah suggested the chartered accountants to adopt dynamism in professional standards to meet the globalisation challenges in trade and commerce.

While addressing the CAs at Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Bhavan here on Tuesday, he said that CAs play a vital role as opinion leaders on economic issues and suggested them to use their professional efficiency for the development of society. He further said that era of globalisation has put a new thrust on all professions including chartered accounts in the field of trade and commerce.

Maintenance of ethical standards to meet the expectations of the investors and the public was vital in the public life. Updating the knowledge would improve the professional efficiency. He also suggested them maintain integrity, ethics. He asked them to create awareness among investors on tax laws and statutory obligations.

Earlier, Rosaiah unveiled the statue of former President APJ Abdul Kalam at Kakinada branch office premises and lauded the services of Abdul Kalam for the development of the nation. In this connection, he felicitated the sculptor Vadayar who designed the statue of Abdul Kalam.

M Devaraja Reddy, president of ICAI, said that ICAI has been putting special emphasis on improving professional standards among chartered accounts in the nation. PR Aruloli, southern chairman of ICAI, Boda Anand Kumar, Kakinada branch chairman and others attended.
