Will Chiranjeevi join BJP? While this speculation has been rife in the district, the mega star in Hyderabad clarified that he has no intention to join the party. He said that as long as he was in politics, he would continue to be in Congress party and wanted to end this speculation which had gone viral particularly on the social media.

The speculations even in BJP circles was that Chiranjeevi would join the saffron party in the presence of Amit Shah when he would be addressing a public meeting on March 6. It was being felt that the BJP which wants to strengthen the party and wants to emerge as a force to be reckoned by 2019, would hence rope in Chiranjeevi.
It may be mentioned here that when Chiranjeevi floated Praja Rajyam party, he had won five seats, four in East Godavari and one in West Godavari district, out of 19 in the undivided AP State. His absence from active participation in Congress party activities in spite of representing the party in RS, his absence in the recent Rahul Gandhi's visit to Anantapur district in AP gave credence to the speculations that he was distancing himself from the Congress and would join BJP. However the BJP leaders here still claim that Chiranjeevi would join BJP but not immediately.
