Elaborate arrangements should be made on a grand scale, he said during the advanced security check conducted along with SP Rajasekhar Babu and Joint Collector B Laklshmikantham. 

Anantapur: District Collector Kona Sashidhar on Thursday instructed officials to ensure that the two day Lepakshi Festival being organised on February 27 and 28 is conducted in a fool-proof manner without any hitch. Elaborate arrangements should be made on a grand scale, he said during the advanced security check conducted along with SP Rajasekhar Babu and Joint Collector B Laklshmikantham.

The Collector inspected the arrangements, including the helipad, being made in connection with the visit of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to inaugurate the prestigious event on February 27. He went round the helipad and made some suggestions. Sashidhar inspected the roads being laid around the Jatayukonda and the Lepakshi temple premises. He wanted the temple to be kept clean and decorated, as Naidu and other VIPs were likely to have ‘darshan’.

Later he went round the area near Nandi statue and inspected the arrangements, before reaching the main venue MJPCHR School Grounds. He inspected the grounds and the stalls being set up there. The Collector said a large number of visitors from other States, besides those from the district, were expected to participate in the festival. He asked officials to ensure that no hardship is caused to the visitors. Among those present were Joint Collector II Syed Khaja Mohiuddin, DRDA Project Director Venkateswarlu.
