Lord Veerabhadra, accompanied by 11 women, was taken on a procession through the thoroughfares of Lepakshi amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by priests at part of Gramotsavam as a prelude to the two-day Lepakshi festival commencing at Lepakshi in the district from Saturday.

Devotees had a darshan of Lord Veerabhadra at the flower bedecked palanquin. The procession crossed Sriram temple and Nandi idol and through Rajaveedhi.

Local legislator Nandamuri Balakrishna, sarpanch Jayappa, local women, priests and temple staff and people of Lepakshi took part in the celebrations.
