Tirupati : Dalitha Hakkula Porata Samhiti (DHPS) has resolved to take up a campaign to press the government for reservation in the private sector.

At a district-level DHPS convention here on Sunday, DHPS State president David Prabhakar, secretary Subba Rao said that DHPS will take up a State-wide campaign to press the government to extend the reservation in the private sector also for the uplift of weaker sections, including SCs and STs.

They criticised the government for diverting the SC and ST Sub-plan funds affecting the SCs and STs. The unemployement among the youth belonging to SC and ST communities has been increasing due to the government failure in implementing the schemes meant for the self employment of the umemployed youth belonging to these communities, they said.

The sanction of loans and also financial assistance under various Central and State government schemes for Dalits and tribals remaining only on papers as the banks were not providing the loans sanctioned to the youth, they alleged.

Against this backdrop, DHPS as part of its State-wide campaign will stage dharnas in front of the Collectrates, Lead Banks and also other government agencies involved in implementing the schemes for the development of Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes.

The CPI leaders, including district secretary Ramanaidu, city secretary Penchalaya, who attended the meeting , expressed their party support to the DHPS struggle for the progress of oppressed classes.
