Pattiseema: District administration has made elaborate arrangements for Maha Sivaratri at Bhadrakali Sametha Sri Veereswara Swamy Temple on the bed of River Godavari at Pattiseema village.

West Godavari Collector K Bhaskar visited Pattiseema on Sunday and reviewed the arrangements with the local officials Speaking on the occasion, he directed officials to make all arrangements for pilgrims at the Pattiseema Kshetram for the festival which falls on March 7.

He directed officials to make arrangements for drinking water and sanitation at Pattiseema and in the temple. He also directed officials to put up lighting in the temple.

He instructed officials to fix the darshan tickets at Rs 20, Rs 50, and Rs 300. He directed officials to arrange Jetti at the dock of the Pattiseema in River Godavari on both sides.

He also directed officials to arrange launches for the safety of pilgrims and asked them to be careful to avoid over-loading of launches. To avert any mishap, he specifically instructed to hire expert swimmers, and have fire tenders stationed in the vicinity. He also asked RTC officials to run special buses considering the rush of pilgrims.

District Medical and Health officer Dr Vijaya Gowry, District Panchayat officer RV Suryanarayana, Endowments assistant commissioner V Satyanarayana, deputy director of Fisheries Ramakrishna Rao, Additional SP N Chandrasekhar, Jangareddigudem DSP J Venkatrao, Deputy Commissioner of Transport Prasannakumar and others participated in the meeting.
