Make Nellore dist a tourism hub, says Mayor
Collector M Janaki said that they would be taking measures to take up the works of tourism projects worth Rs 63 crore in the district. The projects have been proposed at BV Palem, Venadu, Nellore Tank, Mypadu, Ramatheertham and Iskapalli areas, she said.

She interacted with the officials on Sunday on the progress of tourism projects in the district and informed that works at Atakanitippa, Nelapattu and Irakkam have come to a concluding stage and asked the officials to expedite the works. She said tender process would be finished soon for rest of the projects.
Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy suggested walking track at Nellore tank and told the officials to speed up the works of Harithavanam at Kothur in the city limits. Zilla Parishad Chairman B Raghavendra Reddy said focus should be laid on at least two to three areas for developing them as prominent tourism spots in the district.
Mayor Abdul Aziz advised for a constructive plan for making the district a tourism hub. District Collector responded to issues raised by other members for taking measures to develop important places as tourism destinations.
MLC S Chandramohan Reddy, RDO K Venkateswarlu, tourism officials Amarendra and Nagabhushanam and others were present.
