Addressing the media, the YSR Congress MLA said that TDP government failed to safeguard the women from the assaults and pointed out actor Balakrishna's comments at an audio release function where he said that his fans are happy when he kisses or impregnates his heroines in movies showcasing his vulgar mentality towards women.

Kalpana even pointed out Chandrababu's comment that all mothers-in-law should encourage their daughters-in-law to give birth to male child. The MLA further responded to Ravela Kishore Babu's son assault on a woman and said that dishonoring women is the culture which TDP party carries. She added that Chandrababu's Chandrababu's anti-women attitude is reflecting on various fronts like failing to provide better remuneration for Anganwadi workers and Asha workers or loan waiver to Dwacra members.
