Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the next Assembly session of the State after June this year would be held in Amaravati. Disclosing this while replying to the motion of thanks to the Governors' speech, he said that efforts are made to construct the temporary Secretariat, so as to streamline the administration.

Rebutting the allegations that the government has been wasting money by constructing the temporary Secretariat, he said that at present the Secretariat is in Hyderabad and he is functioning from Vijayawada, due to which, several problems have been cropping up. Though the temporary Secretariat is going to be shifted, the buildings would be used for some other purpose after shifting the secretariat to the permanent buildings on completion of the construction of the capital city of Amaravati, he added.

Lashing out at the Opposition for alleging corruption charges in the Polavaram project, he pointed out that no hike has been given to the contractors in the execution of package 8 of the Polavaram Right Main Canal (PRMC) and whatever additional amounts were paid were for the additional works executed, he added.

He also questioned BJP MLA Vishnukumar Raju siding with Jaganmohan Reddy demanding the government to give a clarification on the question raised by Jaganmohan Reddy. He further reiterated that he would be visiting Delhi on Thursday to meet the Union Ministers to discuss various issues, including delivering on the promises made under the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act. “I have no issues to hand over the construction of Polavaram project to the Centre, if they wanted to complete the same,” he added.
