Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham postponed his proposed indefinite fast demanding fulfillment of the assurances given by the State government recently. Talking to reporters at his residence in Kirlampudi, Mudragada clarified that he is stepping back as per the suggestions made by the Kapu leaders that exanimations would be affected, if the tensions rose during the proposed indefinite fast. 

​​Kirlampudi (East Godavari): Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham postponed his proposed indefinite fast demanding fulfillment of the assurances given by the State government recently. Talking to reporters at his residence in Kirlampudi, Mudragada clarified that he is stepping back as per the suggestions made by the Kapu leaders that exanimations would be affected, if the tensions rose during the proposed indefinite fast.

“I am postponing the fast to make sure that students would not suffer. Joint Action Committees (JACs) would be set up in 13 districts to put pressure on the government,” he said. The Kapu leader called upon the TDP Ministers to double up efforts to fulfill the assurances made in the election manifesto.

Mudragada warned that he would protest again, if the cases were filed on his followers and leaders, who participated in the Kapu Ikya Garjana. Stating that he would announce his next plan of action in couple of months or after the Manjunatha Commission report is tabled, Mudragada called upon Kapus across the State not to relax until their demands were met.

Earlier, Kapu leaders who came from across the State observed that it is not right time to stage a protest as various examinations are round the corner. They reminded Mudragada that most people, who took part in Kapu Ikya Garjana are youth. Stating that funding for Kapu Corporation is not the main aspect, they felt that everyone from the community should fight for the inclusion of Kapus in BC list. They also advised Mudragada to take up either Padayatra or Rath Yatra.
