  • YSRCP leaders state that the Kapu leader is playing wait and watch game
  • MLC Boddu Bhaskara Rama Rao says that Kapu leaders advised Mudragada to wait

The Kapu Welfare Corporation director and TDP general secretary Yerra Vengopal termed it as a setback for Mudragada in the form of lack of support from the youth in the community, who stood by the leader in the January 31 agitation. “Youth knew very well that the State government is committed to its election promises,” he said.

TDP senior leader and close friend of Mudragada, who played a key role in withdrawal of Mudragada’s indefinite fast earlier, MLC Boddu Bhaskara Rama Rao said that unlike the previous occasion, several Kapu leaders held discussions with Mudragada on Thursday and cautioned him over frequent agitations. “Besides the Kapu leader was also advised to wait,” he said.

Former bureaucrat and Amalapuram MP, Dr P Ravindra Babu felt that there is no need for agitation, when the government has come forward with effective solution. While YSRCP leader Kurasala Kannababu felt that Mudragada is following wait and watch policy. “The State government has to fulfil the promise of release of Rs 500 crore as promised for 2015-16 but released only Rs 100 crore.

For the year 2016- 17 Rs 1,000 crore was announced in the budget and all eyes are on it,” he said. CPI East Godavari unit secretary Tatipaka Madhu said that Mudragada is missing support from youth. “Besides this, the announcement of Rs 1,000 crore in the budget made youth to think twice over participation in the agitation,” he added.
