Parents and teachers should inculcate these qualities in children for a better society,” while addressing a lecture on ‘Empowering Education Effectively’ a drive initiated by Icon Public School for parents and teachers, here at a convention centre on Saturday.

On the occasion, he said that home, educational institutions and temples are the only places which inhibit qualities and concerns among children that nurture them into becoming a successful. The foundation seeds for good deeds and knowledge should be sowed among them at a tender age.

Every parent should utilise their capacities in bringing out the best of their children by encouraging them to pursue their dreams”, he said. Lakshmi Narayana opined that there is a need for good politicians in the society. “One should pamper the child to learn and not just study.

Logical ability development, encouraging children to think, implementation of practical’s and application oriented teaching is what we need for bringing up the children. The focus should be on educating the children and not for marks. Teachers’ role should be a facilitator than that of the regular run-of-the-mill kind’’, he said on role of teachers.

Speaking to the parents, he asked them to spend quality time with their children that help them to understand each other in a better way and opposed jail parenting. ‘’Children will ape their parents. It is their responsibility to set an example for their children. Social service, empathy, helping nature should be inculcated among children from a tender age” he added.
