Plea against heavy vehicles on Krishna barrage dismissed

Hyderabad: The two-judge PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale and Justice Naveen Rao on Monday dismissed a writ plea filed by Mangalagiri MLA A Ramakrishna Reddy challenging the decision of the government to permit the plying of heavy vehicles on the Krishna barrage.

The bench pointed out that the MLA had an effective alternative forum to raise the issue. The bench also took note of the fact that the government had permitted the plying of such vehicles only on a temporary period and that no such vehicles were being currently permitted.
