Jagan brings focus on pattedar passbooks for farmers
Addressing the issue of pattedar passbooks for farmers during the question hour of the AP assembly session on Wednesday, Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the farmers should possess these physical ownership documents and should be treated as primary documents as they can beĀ utilized for loans and other purposes.

Jagan's proposal was supported by BJP MLA Vishnukumar Raju who said that it was a good suggestion and the pattedar passbook as a physical ownership document would be of primary importance rather than problems that will occur if the documents are in the form of computer records.
Revenue Minister KE Krishnamurthi responded to the issue by saying that the passbooks were only being kept as optional documents and not being replaced.
