AgriGold depositors take up rally in Vijayawada

AgriGold victims took up a rally on Monday seeking the AP government's help in getting back their deposits from the AgriGold company. The rally was staged from Tummalapalli Kalakshetram to Gymkhana Grounds in Vijayawada. The aggrieved depositors of AgriGold stated that the ruling party leaders purchased the AgriGold properties through their proxies and added that the interrogation of the people involved is also fake.

While all the political parties expressed solidarity with the victims, the depositors, however, demanded that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu give a clarification on the issue in Assembly. Meanwhile, Lakshmi Parvati, widow of former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao addressed the rally and alleged big leaders, such as TDP Chief General Secretary Nara Lokesh had acquired the assets of AgriGold that duped the depositors due to which the investigations were not smooth.

She further questioned as to whether the ruling TDP would order a CBI probe into the AgriGold transactions and also dared Chandrababu to order a probe into the matter. Lakshmi Parvati even warned of intensifying the agitation by the depositors if the AgriGold properties were not sold and distributed among the victims.
