Vijayawada: CPI State unit will conduct a huge rally and stage a demonstration near the AP Assembly in Hyderabad on March 28 demanding that the State government pay better package for the families affected by the Polavaram project in West Godavari district. Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna lashed out at the State and the Central governments for not resolving the issues concerned with displaced families.
He said 2.50 lakh people were affected with the project and were waiting for justice. He said a big rally would be organised from Indira Park to the Assembly and demonstration would be held later near the Assembly. The CPI leader demanded that the government pay Rs 20 lakh compensation per acre to the displaced families as it was done in case of Pattiseema project.
