Call to join hands to achieve steel plant

Kadapa: Justice Lakshmana Reddy, who was appointed as the chairman of the ‘Seema Ukku Sadhana Samakhya’, called upon the people to join their hands in achieving the steel plant for Kadapa district.

To get the steel plant for Kadapa district, the ‘Rayalaseema Abhivrudhi Vedika’ as well as Rayalaseema Abhivrudhi Porata Samithi formed as the ‘Seema Ukku Sadhana Samakhya’ to create awareness among the public about the importance of steel plant for the district.

The members of the SUSS organised a round-table conference at IMA Hall on Sunday and chalked out an action plan for achieving the steel plant. Speaking on the occasion, Justice Lakshmana Reddy said that the Central government has stated in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act about setting up of steel plant in Rayalaseema districts, especially in Kadapa. But later the proposal was put on back burner. He asserted that every person in Rayalaseema should strive for achieving steel plant for the development of the drought affected region.

MLC Geyanand demanded the State government to bring the issue to the noice to the Central government as it can solve the unemployment problem to some extent in the area where the people have been migrating to neighboring States for work.

Earlier, the members attended the round-table conference and elected Justice Lakshmana Reddy as chairman unanimously, Dr C Obul Reddy as convener, Ch Chandrasekahar Reddy as advisor and other prominent persons as members of the SUSS.
