Participating in Birds Festival, organised by the Kalpavruksha Foundaiton at Sivaji Park here on Sunday, the Minister lamented that with the growing effects of radiation, pollution and atmospheric conditions, the population of various birds and animals was diminishing gradually. 

Visakhapatnam: All sects of birds play a pivotal role in protecting environment and it is responsibility of all persons to protect the birds, observed Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

Participating in Birds Festival, organised by the Kalpavruksha Foundaiton at Sivaji Park here on Sunday, the Minister lamented that with the growing effects of radiation, pollution and atmospheric conditions, the population of various birds and animals was diminishing gradually.

He appealed to the public to provide a small vessel of cool water and pulses either on the compound walls or near the terrace within the reach of birds in view of the summer season.

“I congratulate the representatives of the Kalpavruksha Foundation and other bird and animal lovers for coming forward to bring awareness to protect the birds and animals at the time where the impact of civic responsibilities and maintaining good relations is vanishing in the present society,” he added.

Among others, former AU vice-chancellor Prof G S N Raju, Circle Inspector Vidyasagar, Kalpavruksha Foundation organiser Srinivasa Rao and other animal lovers participated.
