Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said three reverse osmosis plants would be installed on the premises of district headquarters hospital soon. He inaugurated Anna Sanjeevani generic medical store on the hospital premises here on Thursday and said the plants would provide safe drinking water to patients.

The Minister said that the aim of Anna Sanjeevani scheme was aimed at selling generic medicines at cheap rates. He said that the generic drugs were as good as the branded ones.

He said the State government was keen on improving healthcare by introducing schemes such as Talli Bidda Express, free medical checkups, tele radiology in the State. Nellore government hospital would soon be upgraded as a super specialty, he added.

MP M Rajamohan Reddy said generic shops should be set up even in rural areas for the benefit of the poor. Mayor Abdul Aziz said awareness should be created among people on Anna Sanjeevani generic medical stores.

Further, Minister Narayana visited works at Penna Barrage, endowment lands in Mansoor Nagar, and encroachments in Bodigadithota area. He assured the local people in Bodigadithota area that they would provide pucca housing for them within next 10 months and asked them to be ready for shifting.

Members of Legislative Council K Sridhar Reddy, B Ravichandra, Hospital Development Society chairman Ch Narasimha Rao and others were also present.
