The day temperature reached around 35 Celsius degrees during the day time and the people are not venturing out after 10 am. Meteorologists predicted that the temperature during the summer would reach around 45 degrees.

The relative humidity in coastal districts is higher than the other areas like Telangana, Chhattisgarh and the people sweat more than any other place. Therefore, the kith and kin of senior citizens and children should take special care to protect their dear ones from sultry summer.

As a result, traders, who indulge in seasonal business, are setting up juice and lassi centres at every junction and raking in moolah. They are setting up a pushcart on the roadside and selling juices at Rs 20 per glass and earning around Rs 1000 per day. Students, employees and others, who travel by public transport, are forced to consume any liquid to balance their metabolism rate.

The roadside fruit sellers are also doing good business. Water melons, grapes are being sold like hot cakes. Now, the public have become health conscious and they are ready to spend more on fruits which is good for health. Each water melon is being sold at Rs 40-50 based on size.

On the other hand, public are purchasing sun glasses and caps to protect themselves from sun light. Each cap is being sold at Rs 60 to Rs 100 and sun glasses for Rs 100. All the petty traders are earning around Rs 1000 per day by selling these products.

Motorcyclists are purchasing caps and sunglasses to protect themselves from sunlight. K Ram Naidu, who is selling caps and sunglasses in the lower tank bund in Vizianagaram said: “I have been selling these items from February and the business is good during the summer. I am selling around 100 caps and 80 to 100 sun glasses.”

K Revathi, a teacher, said: “I am wearing sun glasses and cap to protect myself from sunlight. I will travel 30 kilometres daily on my bike, so I am purchasing these.”
