Tirupati: Finance Minister Y Ramakrishnudu said that he would convene a meeting with TTD officials separately to resolve the audit objections in the TTD.

Speaking to newsmen after offering prayers in Tirumala on Friday, he said that audit objections with regard to various activities of TTD to the tune of Rs 43 crore is pending to be cleared and wanted the TTD to take necessary steps to settle it immediately.

In the same breath, he said that the audit objection with regard to TTD schemes or activities which was about Rs 63 crore was brought down to Rs 43 crore now when he was acting as PAC chairman. The Minister also observed that every paise (of the pilgrims) spent on any programme by TTD should be properly accounted.

In this connection, the Minister said that TTD is funding SVBC, its satellite channel for promotion of Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavam and getting revenue from advertisements and said it should be properly audited.

Answering a query on the alleged irregularities in TTD programme including Dalitha Govindam, Kalyana Govindam and SVBC, he observed that the expenses incurred for any programme be it for promotion of spiritual or any social activities should be properly accounted.

Replying a query on the contentious YSRCP MLA Roja issue, the Minister said he was not “big” enough to speak about the issue and declined to comment further.

Earlier, he offered prayers in the Lord Venkateswara temple. At the entrance of the Srivari temple he was accorded warm welcome by Joint Executive Officer KS Sreenivasa Raju.

Later he offered prayers to the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara, Vakula mata, Ananda Nilayam Vimana Venkateswara, Bhashyakarla Sannidhi and Yoga Narasimha Swamy in the Sanctum Sanctorum. After offering prayers the Vedic Pundits rendered Vedasirvachanam to the delegates at Ranganayakula Mandapam.

Finance minister later held a meeting with officials here (down the hills Tirupati). He also visited TTDs `SV Institute of Traditional Sculpture and Architecture for selection of idols required for the temple coming up in his native village in Tuni area and BIRRD hospital.
