YSRCP deputy Floor leader Jyothula Nehru and MLA Varupula Subba Rao are all set to make a switch to the ruling TDP party. It is learnt that the two MLAs interacted with their followers in their respective constituencies to come to the decision to join TDP. While Jyothula Nehru stated that he would follow his supporters' decision, Subba Rao declared that he would be joining the TDP.

However, they are yet to take a final decision on the front. According to the sources, Jyothula Nehru may be offered a minister’s or cabinet rank post in chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet and as per Jyothula's followers, the latter had promised a cabinet berth in 1995 but had not fulfilled his promise.

Meanwhile, YSRCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy met Jyothula Nehru on Sunday at his residence in Irripaka village in Jaggampet constituency and tried to convince the latter not to leave the party. Stating that the YSRCP leader had not said anything about joining TDP, Chevireddy further said that he won't comment on the issue when Jyothula Nehru did not make an announcement of joining TDP. When questioned about Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu's meet with Jyothula Nehru, Chevireddy stated that any political leader can meet the Finance Minister but he, however, asked Chandrababu to prove transparency of his party by making the defected MLAs resign and contest once again.
