City secretary RN Madhavi said AIDWA strongly condemned the efforts of the ACP who is trying to dilute the case by spending huge amounts of money. She also condemned the action of higher officials who transferred to special branch instead of dismissing him from the service. She said the case came to light at a time when women were being subjected to harassment, even in the police stations.

Visakhapatnam: Leaders of AIDWA on Tuesday demanded dismissal of Assistant Commissioner of Police (East) Dasari Ravibabu for alleged sexual harassment of Kakara Padmalatha, a Dalit leader and daughter of former Paykaraopeta MLA Kakara Nookaraju. They later submitted a memorandum to the Collector to slap SC and ST case against the ACP followed by a judicial inquiry. They said it was unbecoming of an officer to exploit a woman leader who went to him regarding a political case.

Demanding a fast track court to try such cases, Madhavi said action should be initiated against the ACP so that such cases would not be repeated.
