Incentives galore for entrepreneurs

Kakinada: An awareness programme for entrepreneurs to start up new business ventures and explore trade opportunities was conducted at the Collectorate here on Tuesday.
The programme was organised by District Industries Centre (DIC). Speaking on the occasion, DIC general manager K Sudhakar said that efforts were on to create a rural hub involving entrepreneurs.
He said the entrepreneurs would be identified at rural areas and based on the database, the DIC would assist entrepreneurs in obtaining loans from banks and offer technical support to them.
He said hard work, achievement, and willingness to serve were some of the essential qualities for an entrepreneur. One should have the right attitude for risk taking and for working long hours with the team, he added.
He said, “Those having the determination, could become entrepreneurs and support some of other families too by taking up the activity of their interest and employ skilled persons to bring the best quality production, be it in making goods or providing services of any kind.” He explained the prospective entrepreneurs about the selection of a suitable site, single window clearance system, infrastructure availability, transport facility etc.
ZP chairperson Namana Rambabu said that the prospective entrepreneurs will be provided guidance and mentorship by experts and also will have an opportunity to interact with bankers and funding agencies. He called upon the entrepreneurs to avail various facilities that are being provided by the State government.
Andhra Bank DGM VS Seshagiri Rao explained the process of getting bank loans. He said the bankers would normally provide loans based on eligibility conditions and explained different kinds of banking schemes funding the entrepreneurial ventures.
Industrialist and Cocanada Chamber of Commerce president Dantu Surya Rao explained about the eligibility criteria and give tips on how to avail loans and run the enterprise properly. He said the beneficiaries will be selected on the basis of the best innovative project ideas.
Municipal administration RDD Y P Ranganayakulu and district panchayat officer AVSS Sarma encouraged women to come up with saleable business ideas and develop business plans.
