Later, speaking to the media, Roja said that the ruling party was vindictive towards her because she was cornering the government on crimes against women. She refuted reports that the privileges committee summoned her to appear in this
regard.
“The government was spreading canards using a section of the media,” she said. She also criticised Chief Minister N Chandababu Naidu, for paying homage to NT Rama Rao alleging that he had no right to even utter the latter's name.“NTR would never have allowed MLAs from other parties to join TDP without first resigning from their own seats,”she said.
