Clear salary dues of hostel staff: AITUC
The AP Government Welfare Hostels Outsourcing and Contract Workers Union, affiliated to AITUC, demanded that the salary dues of government hostel employees be cleared.
Vijayawada: The AP Government Welfare Hostels Outsourcing and Contract Workers Union, affiliated to AITUC, demanded that the salary dues of government hostel employees be cleared.
The State executive committee meeting of the union was held at Dasari Nagabhushan Rao here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, AITUC national secretary G Obulesu alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had turned a blind eye on the welfare of the employees rendering their services at government welfare hostels. Majority of the employees were facing severe hardship with the delay in the payment of salaries from June 2015. No measures were taken by the government in providing identity cards and also failed to provide ESI and Provident Fund for the employees. A decision should be taken by the State Government in favour of the employees during the cabinet meeting to be held on Saturday or else the employees would begin agitation, he warned.
AITUC State deputy general secretary R Ravindranath, union honorary president P Ramana, general secretary T Prasad and others were present.
